Supervision provides a reflective space for counsellors and therapists to discuss their practice to ensure that counsellor's clients are receiving quality counselling and are safe. It's a requirement for qualified and trainee therapists seeking professional development. I have a Diploma in the Practice of Supervision, and provide the space for you to reflect on, develop and to enhance your therapeutic work.

How does the first therapy session work?
We start with a free initial consultation to discuss your needs, goals, and how we might work together. This is a no-obligation brief, taster session to determine if my approach fits you. From there, we can book in ongoing sessions.

How long does therapy typically last, and how often are sessions?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes long, held weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs. The overall duration varies—some clients see progress in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We review progress regularly to adjust as needed.

Is therapy confidential, and what are the exceptions?
Yes, all sessions are confidential in line with BACP ethical guidelines. Exceptions include situations where there's risk of harm to yourself or others, or legal requirements such as child protection. I'll discuss confidentiality fully in our first meeting.

How can therapy help with anxiety and stress?
Talking to a professional can provide a different perspective on stress and anxiety, highlighting patterns and triggers, as well as providing various coping strategies to alleviate stress. We may draw on CBT strategies looking at the relationship between thinking, perception, feelings and behaviour. Alternatively, we may explore the root cause of anxiety and stress, drawing on family background and learning how to change unhelpful patterns and adopt new habits for a calm and healthy life.

What role does creativity play in your therapy sessions?
Creativity is integrated through methods like Sandtray work, story reframing, or visualization to help process emotions and gain new perspectives. These tools are especially useful for breaking through mental blocks and are experiential and powerful.

How does Jasmine support neuro-diverse clients, such as those with ADHD?
I will tune into you as an individual and your unique experience of neurodiversity. I will ask questions to find out how you feel about your life, difficulties and tune into what you need help and support with. Having understood your frame of reference and world, we will look at finding strategies to support you.
